Is the HexaGrid Orthopedic Layer soft or firm?
Trick question – it’s both!
The HexaGrid is divided into 3 thirds. The flat midsection is firmer to offer your back extra support to keep it strong and healthy; and the ends are softer to offer soothing comfort to the legs and shoulder.
Furthermore, the layer is made of with a patent-pending, uniquely adaptable blend. It conforms to your body, knowing where to apply soft comfort and where to provide firmer support. Making Origin Mattresses feel different, and your sleep better.
How does the Origin Hybrid regulate temperature?
The plush handcrafted pillow top is covered in a cooling Tencel cloth which is highly breathable, allowing airflow to transfer body heat to the HexaGrid Orthopedic Layer below,
And then that’s when the temperature regulation kicks in.
When your body is warm, the HexaGrid layer will expand, promoting airflow to cool you down.
And when you’re cool, the HexaGrid layer contracts, trapping heat and keeping you warm.

What type of bedframe do you recommend?
Any flat bedframe will work well with the Origin Mattress (slats too). You can even use it on the floor if you like! However we don’t recommend using the mattress with an adjustable bed base as it might damage the comfort pocket springs in the long run.
Does the mattress need to be rotated?
Most mattresses do, but not the Origin Hybrid does not. Our AntiGravity Springs are custom-built to keep their shape while supporting the maximum recommended weight daily without rotation

Being on the heavier side, most of the mattresses I tried have some dips within several months of using them. I have been using Origin’s mattress for over 4 months and it still seems pretty supportive. I am happy with the level of firmness but not too hard. It is hard to describe the feeling but I am happy with it. Hope to update more about my experience with this mattress in a few more months..
I ordered the mattress with the wrong size and it was too big for my bed frame. I am impressed with the customer service at Origin – I rang up the customer service number and they got back to me instantly. They delivered a new one 2 days later and I am now a happy customer. The mattress feels good and relaxing.
The luxurious soft feeling and quality sleep provided by this Origin mattress is unbelievable! Not forgetting to mention the support my back gained from it has been nothing but soothing. I like how the mattress follows my body’s contours and how it is cooling too.
