Casper Mattress Review 2024

Casper Original Hybrid Mattress VS Origin Hybrid Mattress

When it comes to the mattress-in-a-box market, Casper Mattress has certainly been one of the pioneers of this industry. One of the most prominently featured Casper Mattresses I have come across is the all-foam model, but the Casper Original Hybrid Model has proven to be a crowd favourite.

Being such a popular model certainly opens it up to reviews and before anyone buys one of these mattresses, we recommend that they take the time to see if there is anything better out there. This article aims to give you clear insight into the Casper Hybrid Mattress and allows you to see how it stacks up to one of its biggest rivals, the Origin Hybrid Mattress.

As of this writing, Casper Mattress is no longer available in the UK.

Casper Mattresses – Why Are They So Popular?

Started back in 2014, Casper made a name for itself by delivering some of the most comfortable mattresses directly to your door. According to the brand, the idea of bringing joy to a tired industry is one of its main goals. Casper offers a wide array of different products that caters to different needs. Buyers can often choose from one of their many options, with each offering something different when it comes to comfort and factors like firmness or quality.

Casper Mattresses Vs Origin Mattresses

One of the issues that I had to deal with was deciding whether the Origin Hybrid Mattress or the Casper mattress would work best for me. I had the fortune of testing both and speaking to experts to help me understand what each brings to the table. Let’s have a look at how the Origin Hybrid Mattress stacks up against the Casper Hybrid Mattress.

1. Number Of Layers

One of the striking differences between the two mattresses is the number of layers that these mattresses offer. The Casper mattress features four distinct layers, which include the pillow top, comfort layer, support core, and base layer. These four layers combine to give you a mattress that is more than 10 inches in thickness.

Comparing this to the Origin Hybrid Mattress, we see that it features 6 layers of construction. Made from 100% Natural Tencel, it also features a layer of Australian Wool, a HexaGrid Orthopaedic layer, Natural Bamboo Foam, CertiPUR-US® certified Edge Support and lastly, finishing off with Antigravity springs for optimal comfort.

Origin Mattress 6 Layers

Winner: Origin is the winner here due to the superior technology it includes to offer more density and overall comfort.

2. Temperature Regulation

For temperature regulation, we inspect the technology featured in these mattresses. It is evident that the Origin mattress has far more features, which include Australian wool and cooling gel memory foam to regulate the temperature of the mattress. Origin Mattress does not just stop there, the HexaGrid layer is also infused with cooling particles to keep your body close to 18.3°C, which experts say is the ideal temperature for deeper sleep.

Origin Hybrid Mattress

While the Casper Mattress does not have such a variety of foam blends and technology integration, the open-cell foam construction helps in making the mattress breathable. Numerous perforations in the cells would dissipate the hot air. Casper refers to this as their AirScape system.

Winner: Origin uses a variety of highly advanced and unique features and Casper ultimately falls short.

3. Motion Isolation

Motion isolation was clearly of utmost importance when the Origin mattress was being created. I did not feel any disturbance during the nights I slept on it, even though my 35kg german shepherd would periodically hop on and off the bed. When I asked the experts why this was so, they explained that the memory foam layer absorbs your body weight and minimises movement while the individually wrapped pocket springs work to isolate movement even further.

Conversely, the Casper Mattress felt much bouncier and less firm. This meant that I felt virtually every movement my dog made. This is because the springs in the Casper Original Hybrid mattress were meant to give more lift and bounce (perfect if you are looking for a springier bed) which are the enemies of motion isolation.

Winner: The Origin Mattress trumps Casper mattress in this aspect.

4. Price And Value

Price is one of the most important factors that you should consider and you will need to make sure that the mattress you choose fits into your budget.

The Casper Mattress is by far one of the most expensive options on the market today. For less than half the price, you can get the Origin Hybrid Mattress, which would offer you almost the same features and more. Keep in mind that this is one of the most basic Casper mattresses, which does mean that the brand is fairly expensive.

Winner: The Origin Mattress is the clear winner when it comes to budget and affordability.

5. Warranty

A long warranty is often a sign that a company backs its own product. For the Casper mattress, you will have a 100-night risk-free trial, which enables you to test the mattress and find out if it offers the desired benefits. This also includes a 10-year limited warranty and free delivery.

Origin almost doubles the warranty for their mattresses. Users will have a 200-day risk-free trial to see if the mattress is worth it. Additionally, it also features a 15-year limited warranty, and delivery is free in the UK. The mattress should arrive in around 2 to 8 business days.

Winner: Origin offers more peace of mind and shows more confidence if we compare the warranties.

Conclusion

Comparing the two well established mattress brands, we can clearly see that Origin comes out on top. Origin offers much more in every aspect of a mattress, while its wallet friendly price makes it extremely value for money.

You can head to the Origin store for a 40% discount on your next mattress, upgrade your sleep now!
